![]() Featuring the singles “Hallelujah” and “Under My Skin” the EP peaked at No. Gin Wigmore subsequently claimed her prize of a record deal with Universal Music Australia and released her debut “Extended Play” record in 2008. The songwriter went on to win the competition beating out 11,000 competitors, becoming the youngest and only unsigned Grand Prize winner in the contest’s history. Wigmore’s sister, the “Shortland Street” soap opera star Lucy Wigmore subsequently submitted the song to the International Songwriting Competition in 2004. Upon her return, with the skills to express her emotions, the singer wrote the song “Hallelujah” in tribute to her father. Following the passing of her father, Wigmore lay her songwriting reigns to rest and went to teach at a kindergarten in Argentina. Born and raised in Auckland, New Zealand, Wigmore’s earliest musical inspiration came from the David Gray album “White Ladder”, after which the 14 year-old penned her first song “Angelfire”.
